Mary Buckley
Growing up in a large family of seven, Mary realized early in life how important family meals are. Mary’s parents made sure the family ate dinner together nightly…which wasn’t easy with five children and all of the activities life brings. Learning to cook with her mother sparked her interest in studying culinary arts. It was while at Johnson & Wales University campus in Providence, RI that Mary found her true love in catering and events. After graduation, she worked for one of Boston’s finest catering companies to hone her skills. In 2002 Mary moved from Boston, MA to Miami, FL to begin her career as an educator. For the past 14 years she has worked closely with students to identify their career path. As the Director of Experiential Education she worked closely with industry and non-profit organizations to design and implement internship and service learning opportunities for students. She never lost her passion for the hospitality industry and continued to design, organize and execute events of all types. Although Mary enjoys the excitement all events presents it is weddings that give her the most satisfaction. Seeing the couple’s vision come true on their wedding day is what drives her.
